32 Blood Moon Zombies

32 zombies per player during horde night. They sprint, they dig, they don't stop. Your base needs to hold.

32 Per Player

04 — Beginner Tips

New to 7 Days to Die? Read these before your first horde night.

01
Day 1: find shelter. Occupy a building, reinforce doors, block windows. Don't build from scratch on day 1 — fortify what's already there.
02
Stone axe first. Small rock + wood + plant fiber. Chops trees, mines stone, kills zombies. Your multi-tool until you find something better.
03
Read everything. With 300% XP, reading skill magazines and books levels you fast. Check every bookshelf, desk, and mailbox.
04
Upgrade your blocks. Wood frames → wood → cobblestone → concrete → steel. Each tier is significantly stronger. Don't face a horde with wood walls.
05
Land claim block ASAP. Place it in your base for the 32x block durability bonus. Without it, your walls are paper during Blood Moon.
06
Stay in base on horde night. Don't run, don't drive. Sit in your base with ammo and fight. Running draws more zombies and they chase indefinitely.
07
Zombies dig. Underground bunkers and roof camps won't work. They dig straight to you. Build kill corridors and funnels instead.
08
Visit traders early. Marked on the map. They sell weapons, ammo, tools, and give quests. The starter quests alone are worth the trip.
09
Cook your food. Raw meat causes food poisoning. Campfire + cooking pot = safe meals. Boiled water over murky water. Dysentery kills as fast as zombies.
10
Chase airdrops. Listen for the plane, watch for the orange smoke. Mark it on your map, gear up, and get there first.
